Stock Notebooks in Stores this Summer

On the heels of Verizon??s announcement last week of its  Mini for $199 (with a two year contract), AT&T confirmed that it will start selling netbooks directly to customers this summer.
According to Reuters, head of AT&T??s consumer business Ralph de la Vega said the company would sell netbooks from Dell, Acer and Lenovo with mobile broadband plans starting sometime in the next few months.
While AT&T stores in Atlanta and Philadelphia and RadioShack have been selling the original 8.9 inch Acer Aspire one for $99 with a two-year AT&T data connection, AT&T will be widening the selection of netbooks it offers and bringing them to more stores nationwide.
Similar to Verizon??s plans, AT&T has been offering low-bandwidth data Hp laptop battery plan for $40-per-month and a higher limit for $60. Of course, we are still torn on if it is worth buying a netbook at all with a mobile broadband service agreement.
Two years ago, your notebook was young and speedy. It would jump at the chance to do your bidding. But now, as you endlessly tap your fingers waiting for programs to load, it seems slower and less enthusiastic about doing its duty. Though it may be tempting to give your system the old heave-ho, you may not have to spend money on a new machine. Adding an affordable solid state drive could add a couple of years to your notebook??s lifespan, and even out-perform a new notebook.
To find out just how much of a difference an SSD can make, we upgraded a two-year-old Sony VAIO VGN-FZ140E with a 1.8-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium, and a 4,200-rpm, 200GB Toshiba MK2035GSS hard drive. In 2007, it cost $1,500 and performed admirably. But time and regular usage had laptop battery taken its toll, slowing down basic tasks to a glacial pace. We tested the system both before and after adding a 120GB OCZ Vertex SSD. Read on to find out how much of a difference the upgrade made.
Getting Started
To transfer all the existing data on the VAIO, we used the Apricorn ADW-USB kit ($29.99; www.newegg.com). It connected from the notebook to the Vertex SSD via a USB port, transferring the operating system, programs, and other data??in this case, nearly 100GB worth of files??in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Our notebook uses a 2.5-inch hard drive with a Serial ATA (SATA) interface. The majority of solid state disks on the market also use SATA interfaces, and are 2.5 or 1.8 inches. Replacing the old drive was easy: we opened a panel on the back of the system, pulled out the old drive, and popped in the new one.
Note: Older systems use a Parallel ATA (PATA) interface, which isn??t compatible with most high-performance SSDs. Check your notebook??s instruction manual, your hard drive controller in the Windows Device Manager, or open the back panel and check the interface on the drive itself. PATA drives have two rows of pins, while SATA ports have a thin, two-part plastic

One reason: The new Core Duo processors, higher performance.

The newly released Core Duo processor, which i series specifications lowest Core i3-330M, 2.13G frequency, 3M 2 cache, 1066MHz bus frequency, specifications and Core 2 Duo P7450 equivalent, but CR10 measured performance with the Core 2 Duo dual-core processing similar devices P8700. Not to mention the new Core Duo processors support Hyper-Threading technology, dual-approved four tasks simultaneously, it goes without saying that support for the new Core Duo Core frequency acceleration technology, the processor can intelligent automatic overclocking. The new Calpella platform, compared with the previous generation processor performance is a qualitative HP pavilion dv9000 Battery.

Two reasons: the memory controller is integrated for faster data transfer.

The new platform integrates the memory controller and graphics chips are integrated into the processor, go inside. In this way, reducing the data transmission link in the middle and lower data latency, improve efficiency, and thus enhance the overall performance of the platform.

Three reasons: a high degree of platform integration, the overall power consumption is reduced.

The new platform consists of three chips into a two-chip size specification, it is less intuitive, Northbridge chip, in fact significantly reduced the overall IBM ThinkPad T43 battery of the platform, but also a platform to further reduce the overall power consumption. Two new Core Duo processor is based on 32nm process technology, in the power control is also a step further.

Four reasons: lower procurement costs.

Integrated to improve, in addition to lower power consumption, the other one is cost reduction. Said that a layman, then, alas, a Northbridge chip, of course less money . The new listing of Core i Series notebooks can be seen the price, cheaper Acer 4740G actually offer is only 4500 or so. And almost the performance of the previous generation notebook platform, but also in price between 5000-6000 yuan.

In the new 32nm mobile Core i7 processors after the release of the Sony VGP-BPS5 Battery manufacturers the first time released a corresponding 32nm Core i7 laptop, but now you can buy models or old models i7 processor models, the new models will soon market, but the old model is still worth buying paragraph i7 laptop-batteries-shop.ca,
